Editing Golden Template

After successfully exporting the firewall configuration into the golden template, you will get an option to navigate to the Manager View | Home > Templates inventory page or go back to Manager View | Home > Firewalls > Inventory page. For more information, refer to Exporting the Firewall Configuration into Golden Template.

To edit a golden template

  1. Navigate to Manager View | Home > Templates page.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Click the template name.
    • Click the Ellipses icon in the ACTION column of the template you want to edit and click Edit Template.
  3. Navigate to other options in Template View: Device, Network, Object, or Policy.

  4. Manually make changes to the exported configuration and add variables for device specific values as needed.

     

    • It is recommended that you do not delete the configurations from View Template Configuration as it breaks dependencies.
    • Since physical WAN interfaces are not exported, edit physical WAN interface settings under Network > Interfaces in template.

  5. After the template update, click View Templates Details to view the exported configurations and new edits.
