Downloading and applying SMA license

The SMA appliance ships with a single administration test license that supports one user indefinitely; to test or deploy the appliance with additional users, or to enable separate components, such as a Spike License, you must apply a valid license file.

To download the license file from MySonicWall and import it

  1. In your Web browser, go to the MySonicWall Web site and log in with your username and password: https://www.mysonicwall.com/

  2. Go to My Products.

  3. Click the link for the appliance that requires a license.

  4. Click on the Licenses tab.

  5. Under the MANUAL UPGRADE click Add keyset to your product.

    The Add Keyset page is displayed.

  6. Select the version to download the license file and click Submit.

    The license file (.lic) is downloaded in your device.

  7. In the AMC, navigate to System Configuration > General Settings.

  8. In the Licensing section, click Edit.

    Based on the license type purchased and the applications that you use, you may see different license type description. For example, SMA1000 CMS with central user license type displays Leased License in the license type description. However, the functionality of the appliance remains the same.

  9. Click Import License.

  10. In the License File Upload click Choose File and select the downloaded license file.

  11. Click Upload.

  12. Click Save and apply pending changes.
