Cloud Backup of Firmware and Settings through a Template

From Firmware and Settings, you can take a snapshot of your current system state, firmware, and configuration preferences, and makes the snapshot of the new System Backup firmware image. You can save backups locally or on the cloud. You can also schedule backups to occur automatically.

Creating backup overwrites the existing Backup firmware image as necessary.

Use the Backup file for saving good configurations and then booting them if upgrades or future configurations cause instability or other serious issues. The configuration file is conveniently saved onboard. The date and time the file was created as well as the firmware version in use at the time is displayed in the Firmware Management & Backup table. The dates for each item listed in the Firmware Management & Backup table are the build dates for the firmware images themselves.

You can create a backup of your current configuration settings on the appliance to be used with the current firmware version or with a newly uploaded firmware version.

To schedule cloud backup of Firmware and Settings through template

1. Navigate to Template View | Device > Settings > Firmware and Settings page.

2. Schedule a cloud backup. For more information, refer to Scheduling Firmware Image Backups.

3. Apply the template to the device groups or devices. For more information, refer to Applying Template to Device Groups or Devices.
4. Commit and deploy the changes. For more information, refer to Committing and Deploying Updates to Device(s) in the Manager View.

Schedule is created on the Firewall View | Device > Firewall > Settings > Firmware and Settings > Cloud Backups > Create Backup > Schedule Backup.
