Adding a Template

You can build templates that you can use repeatedly to apply configurations to the firewalls in your environment.

To add a template

1. Navigate to Manager View | Home > Templates page.

2. Click the Add Template icon.

   

3. Enter the Template Name.
4. Choose OS Type from SonicOS or SonicOSX. The templates can be applied to specific devices that are running the OS.

5. Enable Use for Configuration Auditor if you are creating a template to create a new Configuration Auditor Report rule. For more information, refer to Creating a Rule for Configuration Auditor Report.

    

   • The Use for Configuration Auditor option is available only for SonicOS type.
   • The template created for the Configuration Auditor Report is read-only, and no changes can be made to its configuration.

6. Enable Zero Touch to enable automated deployment of the template configuration to Zero-Touch devices when the template is applied to target group(s) or device(s).

    

   • By the default, Zero Touch option is disabled.
   • Offline devices will be updated once they come online.
7. Enter a valid Description. This is optional.
8. Click Create.

9. Do one of the following:

   • Click Confirm to switch to Template View to define your template now. For more information about defining the template, refer to Defining or Editing a Template.
   • Click Cancel to stay back on the Manager View | Home > Templates page.
