Status of the Firmware Upgrade on Firmwares

Once Upgrading Devices through Firmwares is schedules instantly or scheduled for a later time, you can track status of the upgrade as it progress on:

 

  • The upgrade is marked as Success only after the firewall has rebooted and synchronized with the system. Until then, the overall status remains In Progress.
  • The commit status may display Success even if the overall upgrade fails due to reboot or synchronization issues.

Status

Description

Upgrade initiated

Upgrade process has started .

Uploading firmware

Firmware is being uploaded from NSM/Firewall Management to the firewall.

Upload completed

Firmware upload to the firewall completed successfully.

Upload failed

Firmware upload to the firewall failed.

In Progress

Upgrade commit execution has started; overall upgrade is ongoing.

Reboot initiated

Reboot command sent to the device after successful firmware upload.

Rebooting

Device is rebooting; Status shows as In Progress on the Inventory page until sync completes.

Upgrade unverified

If the firewall sync is failed within 30 minutes after reboot or connectivity lost post-upgrade.

Success

Upgrade completed successfully after reboot and device sync.

Failed

Upgrade failed due to intermediate errors (upload failure, device not found, etc.).

To check status of the firmware upgrade

  1. Navigate to Manager View > Home > Firewalls > Firmwares > Upgrade Status tab.

  2. Click the Commit ID for the timestamp when you submitted the upgrade request.

    The page displays all devices included in the upgrade and their STATUS.
