Upgrading Firmware of Multiple Devices

You can now upgrade multiple firewalls from a group of devices in a single action.

  • This option is available only for the devices which are In Sync with Firewall Management.
  • Firewall Management does not support downgrading firmware. Perform the downgrade locally from the firewall.

To perform group upgrade of devices

  1. Navigate to Manager View | Home > Firewalls > Inventory page.
  2. Select Model from the Group By drop-down menu.

  3. Select the three dots in the ACTION column for the group of devices you want to upgrade and select Group Upgrade Firmware.

  4. Select the devices in the group and click Next.

  5. Click Browse under UPLOAD FIRMWARE and select the firmware.
  6. Set the SCHEDULE TIME:

    • Schedule Now - Choose this to upgrade instantly.
    • Set Schedule - Set a schedule to upgrade at a future date—within the next 30 days from now.
  7. Click Upgrade.

  8. View the pending configurations and commit the upgrade configurations. For more information, refer to Viewing Pending Configuration Updates.

You can check status of the commit on the Manager View | Home > Config Management > Commits page. For more information, refer to Commits.

  9. Check progress and status of the upgrade on the Manager View | Home > Firewalls > Inventory page. For more information, refer to Status of the Firmware Upgrade.

    • The upgrade is marked as Success only after the firewall has rebooted and synchronized with the system. Until then, the overall status remains In Progress.
    • The commit status may display Success even if the overall upgrade fails due to reboot or synchronization issues.
