Upgrading Firmware of a Device

Firewall Management does not support downgrading firmware. Perform the downgrade locally from the firewall.

To upgrade firmware on a firewall

  1. Navigate to Manager View | Home > Firewalls > Inventory page.
  2. Click the Ellipses icon in the ACTION column for the device you want to upgrade firmware for and select Upgrade Firmware.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • Upgrade to any available version on your Local system

      1. In the AVAILABLE SOFTWARE VERSION(S) section, click Browse and select the swi file in your system.
      2. Click Upload.
    • Upgrade to any available version:

      • Instantly
      • Schedule an upgrade

      1. In the AVAILABLE SOFTWARE VERSION(S) section, select the required software version from the list.
      2. Click Next.
      3. Set SCHEDULED UPGRADE:

        • Select Later to schedule the upgrade at a future date—within the next 30 days from now.
        • Select Now to upgrade immediately.
      4. Click Upgrade.
      5. View the pending configurations and commit the upgrade configurations. For more information, refer to Viewing Pending Configuration Updates.

        You can check status of the commit on the Manager View | Home > Config Management > Commits page. For more information, refer to Commits.

      6. Check progress and status of the upgrade on the Manager View | Home > Firewalls > Inventory page. For more information, refer to Status of the Firmware Upgrade.

         

        • The upgrade is marked as Success only after the firewall has rebooted and synchronized with the system. Until then, the overall status remains In Progress.
        • The commit status may display Success even if the overall upgrade fails due to reboot or synchronization issues.
