Licensing Requirements

With the release of SonicOS 8, SonicWall is offering licensing tiers to support the TZ80, TZ280, TZ380, TZ380W, TZ480, TZ580, TZ680, NSa 2800, NSa 3800, NSa 4800, and NSa 5800 firewalls.

With the following licensing models, the firewall checks in with MySonicWall every 30 days to confirm active subscriptions. When a firewall's license expires, it is out of subscription compliance. However, the service remains active an additional 90 days after the license expiration, but the firewall will not pass any additional traffic until the new license key has been applied.

The licensing tiers are identified as follows:

  Supporting TZ80

• Advanced Protection Security Suite

  Supporting SonicOS 8

• Managed Protection Security Suite

  Supporting SonicOS 8

Some form factors can also offer Hardware Only (a naked firewall with no license/software subscription).

SonicPlatform License Subscriptions

SonicPlatform has the following license packaging options:

• Monthly subscription:

  With this service, you can pay a monthly subscription fee for 24/7 access to SonicPlatform. This option is excellent for organizations with unpredictable or fluctuating cloud security needs.

• Annual subscription:

  With this service, you can pay a yearly subscription fee for 24/7 access to SonicPlatform. This is an excellent option for organizations with predictable cloud security needs and who would like to save money on the overall cost of the platform.
