Known Migration Issues

• Unsupported interfaces block migration
  • VLAN, WLAN tunnel, and other tunnel interfaces must be removed prior to import.

    • Use the NSM Migration App to process export files that contain VLAN and tunnel interfaces and convert them into configurations compatible with equivalent Gen7 models.

    • After conversion, the resulting settings file can be imported into the corresponding Gen8 models using supported migration workflows.

    • Once converted, the updated export file can be used to perform an on-box migration to Gen8 devices.

• Address object discrepancies
  • Default address objects could be discarded if the target device lacks equivalent interfaces.
• Feature settings may be dropped
  • Advanced BWM, Port Redundancy, and PoE configurations are removed on devices that do not support them.
• Encryption changes
  • Certain deprecated algorithms (such as AESGCM128) are automatically replaced or set to “None” where unsupported.
