Migration Considerations

When migrating to a Gen8 firewall, review the following limitations, known issues, and special cases to ensure a smooth transition.

Unsupported Features

Migration is not possible if these are configured:

• Wiremode/Tapmode on TZ80
• Internal Wireless configuration (hardware limitation)
• PoE configuration (hardware limitation)
• Port Redundancy, Active/Active Clustering, DPI
• Advanced Switching, Dell Switch Integration
• VLAN, WLAN tunnel, or other tunnel interfaces (must be removed before migration)
• GMS Configurations, Capture Client Enforcement, Advanced BWM
• L3 Link Aggregation

Unsupported Settings

The following settings are not migrated and require manual reconfiguration.

• CFS 3.0 (Replaced by CFS 5.0)
• High Availability (HA) control interfaces
• Certificates (must be exported/imported separately)
• Certain VPN and IP-Helper policies
• Syslog server configurations in some migrations
