SonicWall Generation 8 TZ and NSa Settings Migration

The Generation 8 (Gen8) TZ and NSa Series firewalls have built-in features that allow you to import configuration settings when you upgrade from a legacy firewall. This eliminates the need for a manual configuration and reduces the risk of errors.

Settings Import Feature

  • Export/Import Settings:

    In a typical client-site deployment, devices must be configured from scratch. However, when upgrading from select models, Gen8 TZ and NSa firewalls allow you to import an existing settings (.exp) file directly to the new device.
