The following limitations apply to SonicWall AI for Monitoring & Insights (Sami) at this time.
Sami cannot perform configuration changes, such as enabling or disabling features, rebooting firewalls, or making configuration modifications.
The conversation history across sessions is not supported in 2.0.0.
If a feature is unavailable, Sami might respond with, "Currently, that feature is not available." Alternatively, it offers to connect to a live support agent.
If Sami chat is unavailable due to a backend error, you will see the message: "Sami chat is currently unavailable. Please create a support case by navigating to the Support and Resources section."
When a live support agent session ends normally, Sami displays a different message: "This conversation has ended. Thank you for choosing SonicWall." Unlike the backend error message above, this wrap-up message does not indicate a system problem. You can continue by typing a new message, which automatically starts a new conversation.
Organizations are subject to monthly query limits (500 queries, or 1000 for Platinum partners). Once exhausted, users must wait until the monthly reset. See Getting started with Sami for more details on the query-limit experience.
If you restart the conversation (for example, using New Chat or Restart Conversation) or refresh the browser, conversation history is not retained. You must start a new conversation to continue.
Sami chat sessions that remain inactive receive an automated reminder before the conversation is automatically closed. If this occurs, users must start a new conversation to continue.
Logging out of SonicWall Unified Management or experiencing a UM session timeout automatically terminates any active Sami chat session to maintain security and avoid orphaned sessions. Users must log back in to UM to start a new chat session.
