Sami Feature Guide

About SonicWall AI for Monitoring & Insights (Sami)

SonicWall AI for Monitoring & Insights (Sami) is a sophisticated AI system that interacts through messaging platforms to support SonicWall Unified Management (UM) operators and administrators at Managed Service Providers (MSPs). These professionals oversee the IT, networking, and security needs of multiple end customers. Sami provides them with instant answers, guides them through common tasks, and connects them to relevant Knowledge Base articles, technical documentation, and live support agents — making it especially effective for rapid network and security status checks across the organizations they manage.

When Sami cannot fully resolve a request, it will ask whether you want to connect with a SonicWall live support agent for further troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Sami can also assist with customer service-related inquiries by connecting you with a SonicWall support representative, ensuring your request is routed to the right team for resolution. In addition, Sami provides informational guidance to help you learn about SonicWall products and identify the right solution for your needs; configuration changes and product actions must be completed by the administrator through the appropriate management interface.

Sami does not process sales or quote requests directly. You can connect with a SonicWall live support agent through Sami, who may be able to assist, or visit the SonicWall Contact Sales page. Similarly, Sami does not process subscription or renewal requests directly. A live support agent may be able to help, or you can visit the SonicWall Renewals Assistance page.

Once launched within SonicWall Unified Management, Sami automatically applies the current session credentials — no separate login is required. Users interact through a chat-like interface that supports response regeneration, clipboard copy, and response streaming for a more dynamic experience.

This intelligent assistant is accessible from every page within the UM platform.

If your organization is not provisioned or licensed for Sami in MySonicWall, the Sami chatbot icon appears greyed out (disabled) in the bottom-right corner and cannot be opened. Contact your SonicWall account administrator or sales representative to enable access.

Upon launching Sami, the chat window opens and displays a welcome message along with commonly used quick-action prompts to help users get started immediately. Users can select a prompt or enter their own query in the message box to begin a conversation.
