SonicWall AI for Monitoring & Insight (SAMI) helps check if firewalls are running outdated firmware, which can create security risks. SAMI allows to upgrade to the latest firmware and schedule the upgrades with minimal manual effort, improving network's security and efficiency.
For example, enter Show the firmware version that can be upgraded.
SAMI displays a list of firewalls, highlighting the firewall friendly name, serial number and current firmware version.
For example, enter Upgrade firewall with <serial number> to the latest firmware version. Replace <serial number> with the serial number of your firewall.
SAMI displays available firmware versions with release type and inquires if you would like to schedule the upgrade now or schedule for later.

SAMI displays a firmware upgrade warning detailing the upgrade task and asks for confirmation to continue with the upgrade task.
Upon confirmation, SAMI displays the firmware upgrade schedule details with a commit ID for tracking.
You can upgrade multiple firewalls at once by selecting all the firewalls of the same model. All selected models will receives the same firmware version.
SAMI checks the compatibility and automatically excludes any firewall model not compatible with the chosen firmware from the upgrade task, while notifying you of this exception.
After initiating the upgrades to periodically check and monitor the status of each task, you can enter, show upgrade progress.
SAMI displays the firmware upgrade schedule with a commit ID for tracking.
SAMI provides real-time updates, showing the status of upgrades: scheduled, in progress, complete, or failed.
In case of any failed tasks, you can troubleshoot and retry the upgrade.
SAMI displays troubleshooting tips and the option to retry the upgrade.
