Upgrading NSM with Backup On Internal Disk

To upgrade to NSM 3.2.0 when data is backed up in internal disk

  1. Login to the NSM 3.1.1HF1 instance in a web browser.

  2. Navigate to System | Dashboard.

  3. Copy the Serial Number present under SYSTEM INFORMATION.

  4. Export the backup file and store in your local directory. Refer Export a File System Backup.

  5. Shutdown the NSM 3.1.1HF1. Refer to Shutdown the System.

  6. Perform a fresh installation of NSM On-Premises version 3.2.0. Refer Installing NSM on ESXi Server

  7. Register NSM On-Premises version 3.2.0 with same serial number as 3.1.1HF1. Refer Registering NSM.

  8. Login to NSM 3.2.0 instance in web browser.

  9. Import the backup. Refer Import a NSM File System Backup.
