Upgrading NSM with Backup On External Disk

To upgrade to NSM 3.2.0 when data is backed up in external disk

  1. Login to the NSM 3.1.1HF1 instance in a web browser.

  2. Navigate to System | Dashboard.

  3. Copy the Serial Number present under SYSTEM INFORMATION.

  4. Shutdown the NSM 3.1.1HF1. Refer to Shutdown the System.

  5. Unmount the Hard disk 2 from NSM 3.1.1HF1. Refer Unmounting the Hard Disk.

  6. Perform a fresh installation of NSM On-Premises version 3.2.0. Refer Installing NSM on ESXi Server

  7. Register NSM On-Premises version 3.2.0 with same serial number as 3.1.1HF1. Refer Registering NSM.

  8. Mount the disk on NSM 3.2.0. Refer Mounting the Hard Disk.
