Creating a MAC Address Object Group

A MAC address object group allows multiple MAC addresses to be grouped and managed as a single object. This grouping simplifies configuration tasks such as defining trusted access points for intrusion detection or applying security policies that rely on MAC‑based identification.

To create a MAC address object group

  1. Do one of the following:

    1. Navigate to DEVICE | Internal Wireless > Settings > General.

    2. In the MAC Filter List section, select Create New MAC Address Object Group from the Allow List or Deny List drop-down menu.

    OR

    1. Navigate to the DEVICE | Internal Wireless > IDS > Settings.
    2. In the Wireless Intrusion Detection Settings section, turn on the Enable Rogue Access Point Detection button.
    3. From the Authorized Access Points drop-down menu, select Create new MAC address object group.

  2. On the Add Address Group page, enter the following information.

    1. In the Name field, enter a descriptive name for the MAC Address Object Group.

    2. In the Show Available section, select MAC to display only MAC address objects.

    3. In the Not in Group list, select the MAC address objects you want to add.

    4. Select the right arrow button to move the selected MAC addresses to the In Group list.

    5. Ensure the In Group list includes all MAC addresses you want in the object group.

  3. Click Save.
