The corporate Junk Box may take a long time to load if there are less than 10 primary accounts listed on the Email Security
When clicking on the corporate Junk Box, it may take a long time to load up if there are less than 10 primary account email addresses listed on the Email Security.
The easiest way to see how many primary accounts you have is by going to Manage | System Setup | Users, Groups & Organizations | Users .Each email address listed under the Primary Email column is one primary account.
Remember, that alias accounts do not compensate as primary accounts. The junkbox having a lot of aliases with less than 10 primary account emails could take long time to load. Why? It is because when there are less than 10 primary accounts, the usermap.xml file will get called from the disk rather than from the memory.
Another question that derives from this situation is , why usermap must be loaded during the loading of junkbox? Well , it is because usermap is used to map the alias to the primary email address for junked spams in quarantine folder. Imagine everytime, when admin junk box loads up, the usermap.xml file must be directly retrieved from the disk rather than memory. Of course, accessing from disk is much slower then accessing from memory.
The simple solution is to add some users to your LDAP even if your organization is comprised of less than 10 people.
If adding more user to your LDAP server is not an option, you should add fakes users on the Email Security to compensate 10+ users for usermap file.
Go to: Manage | System Setup | Users, Groups & Organizations | Users | Add | Primary Address
These users do not have to be real users.
EXAMPLE: bogus_user1, bogus_user2, bogus_user3
As long as the Email Security sees that you have more then 10 primary email addresses in the usermap file, the file is put in the memory, which then should shorten the time of your junkbox to load a lot quicker.
NOTE: If the navigation or the screenshot looks different from the one mentioned above , you may be in an older firmware version and would require a firmware upgrade. Please refer the link below to upgrade the firmware to latest version.
