SMB SSL-VPN: Unable to launch RDP/VNC bookmark after installing Java update JRE 1.7 update 9
After installing the recent Java update JRE 1.7 update 9 and Update 10, uses are unable to lauch the RDP/VNC boomark. They also get a precautionary warning about the hostname of the appliance. This issue will occur if the SRA appliance is listening on a hostname (say ex. www.company.com) and the user is using a different hostname (ex. www2.company.com).
The recent Java updates treats any hostname mistmatch errors as critical and drops the connection. This results in Java bookmarks using the JRE update to fail when using the latest 7.0 firmware.
1. Configure a virtual hostname for the SRA Portal, which the users will use to access the Portal. Users should not be using an alternate name while using RDP Java Bookmarks.
2. On the client-side Java settings, "Use SSL 2.0 compatible Client Hello format" checkbox needs to be checked.
