When using the Secure Mobile Access (SMA) on demand browser based application proxy via browsers (such as Edge) a pop up window may appear asking to switch applications. The following resolution provides steps to save the users selection so that the app switcher pop up does not reappear in future sessions.
For Edge, there are two ways to disable the app switcher pop up:
Create a registry key.
Open Registry editor and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ProtocolExecute
Create a new key called “SonicWallSEM”
In the “SonicWallSEM” key create a new DWORD called WarnOnOpen and leave the value as 0.
The other method is to disable the popups by using Internet Explorer (+ ActiveX disabled).
To suppress warnings on Edge, login with IE + ActiveX disabled and you would see warning. Here, you have an option to remember the choice (uncheck ‘Always ask..’). Once done, this would apply to both IE and Edge. More info can be found here: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/ieinternals/2011/07/13/understanding-protocols/. The blog also contains the info on registry values and how to re-enable the prompts.
