    Description

How to create address objects and group them via ssh using Putty.

    Resolution

    1. From the default mode enter config mode

** To show a list of available commands hit the tab key on the keyboard --> **

    Command Type =  address-object
    IP Version = ipv4
    Name of Object = AnyObject
Object Type =  host, network, range, zone
    examples:
    (ie) host: 192.168.1.55 zone LAN
    (ie) network 192.168.100.0 /24
    (ie) range 192.168.100.50 192.168.100.60

    Type Command: config
    admin@C0EAE46CD900> config

    ( IP Address 1 )
Type Command: address-object ipv4 AnyObject host 192.168.1.55 zone LAN
    config(C0EAE46CD900)# address-object ipv4 AnyObject  host 192.168.1.55 zone LAN
    config(C0EAE46CD900)# commit
    % Applying changes...
    % Changes made.
    config(C0EAE46CD900)#

    ( IP Address 2 )
    Type Command: address-object ipv4 AnyObject2  host 192.168.1.80 zone LAN
    config(C0EAE46CD900)# address-object ipv4 AnyObject2 host 192.168.1.80 zone LAN
    config(C0EAE46CD900)# commit
    % Applying changes...
    % Changes made.
    config(C0EAE46CD900)#

    ( IP Address 3 )
    Type Command: address-object ipv4 AnyObject3 host 192.168.2.20 zone LAN
    config(C0EAE46CD900)# address-object ipv4 AnyObject3  host 192.168.2.20 zone LAN
    config(C0EAE46CD900)# commit
    % Applying changes...
    % Changes made.
    config(C0EAE46CD900)#

    2. Create an Address Group and put address objects in that group.
    Command Type =  address-object
    IP Version = ipv4
    Group Name = GroupName
    Object Name = AnyObject

    From config mode:
    Type Command: address-group ipv4 GroupName
    config(C0EAE46CD900)# address-group ipv4 GroupName

    Type Command: commit
    (add-ipv4-address-group[GroupName])# commit
    % Applying changes...
    % Changes made.

( The Group GroupName is now created )

    Type Command: end
    (edit-ipv4-address-group[GroupName])# end

2.1 Put address object in a group

    Type Command: address-group ipv4 GroupName
    config(C0EAE46CD900)# address-group ipv4 GroupName

    Type Command: address-object ipv4 AnyObject
    (edit-ipv4-address-group[GroupName])# address-object ipv4 AnyObject

    Type Command: commit
    (edit-ipv4-address-group[GroupName])# commit
    % Applying changes...
    % Changes made.

( The address object is now part of the GroupName group object. )

** AnyObject and GroupName are just example names choose names that best suit your configuration and servers **

Repeat step 2.1 for the other address objects.

    Test Configuration Changes:

    Type Command: end
    Type Command: show address-groups

    config(C0EAE46CD900)# end
    admin@C0EAE46CD900> show address-groups ipv4

    address-group ipv4 GroupName
        address-object ipv4 AnyObject
        address-object ipv4 AnyObject2
        address-object ipv4 AnyObject3
        exit
