Cloud Edge allocates internal private IP addresses for devices connecting to its zero trust network.
Currently the range used by Cloud Edge is specified under ‘subnet ‘optional’ field in ‘network’ configuration. The private address range can be 10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12 or 192.168.0.0/16.
If the optional subnet field is NOT configured, the range assumed by Cloud Edge is 10.255.0.0/16.
This does not work for many partners/ MSSPs as they have limited private address ranges to reserve for Cloud Edge’s use.
Private addresses are used by MSSPs/partners to allocate to the various devices in the networks managed by them.
In the upcoming/next fix release, more granular subnets should (a.k.a CIDR subnets) be supported that don’t reserve very large subnet ranges (/8 or /16) for Cloud Edge’s use. However, there is a limitation in the number of gateways that can be supported.”
This gateway limit is per Cloud Edge ‘network’.
/21 (minimum) - 1 Gateway (GW)- The smallest size CIDR block that can be allocated.
