Authorization Error: Unregistered user device with email

Description

The error message “Unregistered Device” typically appears when a user attempts to log in using a method or email address different from the one used during initial registration. This behaviour is expected and works as designed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT delete the user from your CSE console. Doing so may trigger additional errors, as it revokes the certificates previously registered with that account.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, please follow the steps below to unregister and re-register the device from end user device:

  • Verify user/email in your IdP Ensure the user and email are correctly added. If you're applying roles, confirm the user is properly assigned.
  • Unregister the device in Banyan:
Open the Banyan app |  Tap the settings gear icon |  Select your organization name |  Tap Unregister Device

  • Clear the browser cache. (This step is important to remove any residual session data).
  • Re-register the app:
Open the Banyan app |  Tap Register |  Enter the Invite Code.

You can get the invite code under: CSE console  |  Settings | Sonicwall CSE client.

If the issue persists, you can report a support ticket attaching the debug logs from the affected device along with the user details and environment .
