SMA100: For some users, idle time and session time are the same.

Description

For some users, idle time and session time are similar, with the majority of users' idle times displaying the same value. The logon time has changed.

Cause

Session time and Idle time are identical for some users, this causes the confusion for admins

Resolution

Follow the steps :

  1. Firmware -> Clients -> Settings -> Disconnection on inactivity timeout, change to enable.

This setting is will only disconnect one client which reach Idle timeout time. So enable this.

And this setting only applies to the global level; customers cannot configure it at the group level Inactivity Timeout (minutes) .

SMA will reset all connected session time every minute if the customer didn't enable the Disconnection on inactivity timeout option. Thus, the idle time will be the same for all users. Additionally, idle time serves no purpose if the consumer has not enabled this option. This is By Design.
