How to Provision SMA1000 in Monthly Billing (MSSP Program)

Description

This article explains how to provision SMA1000 in Monthly Billing (MSSP Program) on MySonicWall.

The following is provisioned once SMA1000 is activated through the MSSP Program.

  • CMS (for central management, GTO, pooled licensing)
  • CMS Pooled User & Support Licenses equal to the Units value
  • 3xSMA8200v for deployment in your preferred hypervisor (ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM) or on public cloud (AWS/Azure)

The SMA8200v appliances must be managed and licensed through CMS's pooled licensing model.

Limitations:

  • Adding previously purchased SMA8200v or SMA1000 hardware appliances to the MSSP Program is not supported
  • Licensing individual SMA8200v appliances with stackable user licenses as opposed to CMS pooled licenses is not supported
  • Adding more than 3xSMA8200v appliances to CMS is not supported

Future enhancements are planned to broaden support for SMA1000 in the MSSP Program.

Resolution

Follow the below steps to provision SMA1000 in Monthly Billing:

  1.  Login to your MySonicWall.com account.
  2. Go to Monthly Products under Monthly Billing and click on Provision.
  3. Select the Product button.
  4. Fill out the details, enter in the number of Units (this is the number of CMS pooled user licenses required - can be adjusted later) and press Provision.
  5. Go to the Tenant selected during the provisioning and verify 1xCMS and 3xSMA8200v have been created.  All 3xSMA8200v will automatically be associated with CMS as Managed Appliances.
