How to enable keep alive on a VPN in your SonicWall firewall

This knowledgebase will help you enable keep alive on a VPN Policy.

First step to enable Keep Alive in your Sonicwall firewall is to go to Policies/Settings under VPN tab in the left menu.

TIP: Regardless the mode that you are using, it is suggested to activate keep alive on the remote because it doesn't do heavy processing of traffic. The remote site can be used for this purpose, while main site is already busy with other tasks processing heavy traffic. 

Select the VPN Policy where you want to enable the Keep Alive option and edit it. 

Go to the Advanced tab and toggle on "Enable Keep Alive"
