The Interface ID (IPv6 suffix) is required for JPIX v6Plus because the service depends on ISP defined IPv6 addressing rules to establish the v6Plus BR connection. Since v6Plus operates using IPv6 as its transport, the firewall must use the specific Interface ID provided by the ISP on its WAN IPv6 address to properly communicate with the v6Plus BR server.
To configure IPv6 Interface Identifier
Navigate to Network > System > Interfaces > Interfaces Settings.
On the Interfaces Settings tab, click on IPv6
.
Hover over the X1 WAN interface that you want to configure and click the Edit icon. The Edit Interface dialog box is displayed.
In the IP Assignment drop-down menu.
Auto is selected
Click on the Advanced tab. Interface Identifier option appears.
Enter the Interface Identifier as specified by the Internet Service Provider (ISP). (e.g.: '::00DB:6476:2700:0000')
Static is selected
Click on the Advanced tab.
Enable the toggles Enable Listening to Router Advertisement and Enable Stateless Address Autoconfiguration. Interface Identifier field is enabled.
Enter the Interface Identifier as specified by the Internet Service Provider (ISP). (e.g.: '::00DB:6476:2700:0000')
Click OK, to save the settings.
The configured Interface Identifier overrides the auto‑generated EUI‑64 portion of the IPv6 address. The interface builds its global IPv6 address by combining the RA‑advertised prefix with this identifier. The Interface Identifier must be specified in the IPv6 suffix notation. (e.g. ::a1:b2:c3:d4 )
