Creating 4to6 Tunnel Interface

The 4to6 Tunnel Interface enables seamless IPv4-to-IPv6 connectivity by encapsulating IPv4 traffic within an IPv6 framework, supporting environments that rely on JPIX v6Plus infrastructure.

To Create a 4to6 Tunnel Interface

  1. Navigate to Network > System > Interfaces > Interfaces Settings.

  2. On the Interfaces Settings tab, click on IPv4.

  3. Click Add Interface and select 4to6 Tunnel Interface. The Add 4to6 Tunnel Interface dialog box is displayed.

  4. In the Tunnel type drop-down, select v6plus Static IP Address Service

  5. Enter a Name for the tunnel interface.

  6. In the Bound to drop-down menu, select the X1 WAN interface that configured above.

  7. Select Use Primary IPv6 Address for Local IPv6 Address.

  8. Select Configure Static Address for BR IPv6 Address and enter the BR specified by the ISP.

  9. Click on the Advanced tab.

  10. Enter v6Plus static IP address specified by the ISP in the Local IPv4 Address.

  11. Enter Resetting server URL specified by the ISP in the the Update URL field.

  12. In the Scheduled Update URL interval field:

    This controls how frequently firewall sends update requests.

    • 0 →Send only once, when the prefix changes (recommended).
    • ≥ 30 minutes → firewall sends periodic updates at the configured interval.

  13. Click OK to save.

  14. After configuring the URL, observe the Status Dot beside the update settings., a colored indicator that reflects the status of the most recent update request.

    • Green → Last update succeeded.

    • Yellow → Last update pending or inconclusive.

    • Red → Last update failed.
