SonicOS 8 NSv Getting Started Guide for ESXi

Using SafeMode on the NSv

SafeMode on the SonicWall NSv provides a recovery and maintenance interface that allows administrators to perform critical system operations when normal management access is unavailable or impaired. SafeMode is typically used to upload or roll back firmware images, reset configuration settings, or recover access after a failed upgrade or misconfiguration. This mode operates independently of the running SonicOS configuration and is accessed through the NSv management interface during the boot process.
