Will the NetExtender VPN windows client be automatically updated after upgrading the firmware?
Description
SonicWall's SSL VPN features provide secure remote access to the network using the NetExtender client. NetExtender is an SSL VPN client for Windows, Mac, or Linux users that is downloaded transparently and that allows you to run any application securely on the company's network.
Resolution
The NetExtender VPN Windows client will be automatically updated after upgrading the firmware the next time it connects, only if it was initially installed from the Virtual Office Portal by clicking on the NetExtender icon or if the administrator downloaded and installed the .exe file located under the NetExtender | Client Downloads menu inside the admin GUI.
On the other hand, if the NetExtender SSL VPN client was downloaded from mysonicwall.com as a .msi file and installed manually on the machines, it will not be automatically updated.
