SMA 1000: AMC based Configuration Extension Mechanism (CEM) and configuration recipient behavior.
Feature:
Configuration Extension Mechanism is a generic mechanism to allow simple configuration to be done for features that appear in maintenance releases or hotfixes.
Currently, there are several major new features/functionality that can be enabled by CEM. These can be enabled only on the originating software version and forward.
Any admin made CEM changes are part of the configuration and it will survive firmware and hotfix upgrades. Exported settings (.aea settings file) from the Maintenance - Export settings page includes the CEM changes made by the admin. Whenever a CEM change is done, a forced pending change is applied thereby allowing the AMC to restart All service(s) and eventually apply the changes to the active configuration files.
