How to put a domain into a different category using CFS custom category feature

RESOLUTION FOR SONICOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.


Step1: Login to sonicwall managemnet UI and navigate to Manage|Security Services | Content Filter

Step2: Check the option 'Enable CFS Custom Category'

Step3: Click on ADD button and put the domain which you want to customzie along with your desired category list in which you want to put it in.

 EXAMPLE: Below example is taken for cnn.com website which belongs to 'News and Media' category(33) but has been customized now to reflect as in 'Weapon' category(5)

Step1: Login to sonicwall managemnet UI and navigate to Manage|Security Services | Content Filter

Step2: Check the option 'Enable CFS Custom Category'

Step3: Click on ADD button and put the domain which you want to customzie along with your desired category list in which you want to put it in.

EXAMPLE: Below example is taken for cnn.com website which belongs to 'News and Media' category(33) but has been customized now to reflect as in 'Weapon' category(5)

How to Test:

Open the website from the client machine and try to access it and you will see firewall gnerating the logs as below :
