How to disable SonicWall's Firmware Auto-Update using CLI?

Description

This article describes the steps to disable the firmware auto update option on the SonicWall Firewall's via CLI access. This is useful particularly when the SonicWall hardware firewall GUI access is lost accidentally up-on selecting the option "Enable Firmware Auto-Update".

Resolution

Below CLI commands can help to disable the Auto-Update feature,

> config
# no firmware auto update
# commit

To verify the configuration change:

From CLI:

The command "show firmware" in the User EXEC mode can confirm the status of the above configuration change.

Later, after gaining access to the SonicWall via GUI, the same configuration change can be checked in MANAGE | Updates | Firmware & BackupsSettings.
