GMS 9.5 Migration Guide

Migration Overview

The Global Management System (GMS) provides basic tools for managing firewalls, generating reports, and handling multiple tenants, but the demands of a rapidly evolving threat environment and the need for more flexible and seamless workflows requires the extra performance that Network Security Manager (NSM) offers.

This document describes how GMS users can transition their system to NSM On-Premises with no loss of functionality. In addition, this transition increases security and ease of management. Customers using either flow-based reporting or syslog reporting in GMS can transition to NSM. NSM offers centralized policy enforcement with a full audit trail. You can orchestrate all firewall operations, see hidden risks, discover misconfigured policies and more easily track compliance. Refer to the NSM product information to learn more about NSM capabilities.

NSM is the modernized successor to GMS, offering streamlined operations, advanced analytics, and a unified dashboard for managing SonicWall devices and security solutions.
