Disabling Device Management

Once the transition snapshot has been imported into NSM, NSM automatically contacts GMS and disables device management on the GMS side. However, you have the option to manually disable device management while in GMS.

On the GMS Transition page, in the Disable Device Management section, select Disable and click Submit.

Once you manually disable device management, GMS can no longer synchronize configurations between GMS and the firewall. It will continue to synchronize configuration and reporting information with SMA even after device management is disabled.

Be sure device management is disabled once the firewalls are transitioned to the NSM inventory. Keeping the firewalls actively managed in both tools leads to unpredictable behavior in the firewalls.
