Preparation and Planning

Before beginning the transition from GMS to NSM, be sure you have NSM 3.0 or later is installed before starting the process. Also review the following items to complete your preparations:

• Sizing your NSM Environment
• Supported Firewalls
• Enabling NSM to Collect Reporting and Analytics Data
• Enabling Reporting and Analytics for GMS Environments

After a successful transition you cannot perform configuration changes on firewalls from GMS nor can you receive reporting and analytics data from firewalls in GMS.Plan to use NSM on-prem after completing the transition process.
