802.11k is a wireless LAN standard that enables radio resource measurement and neighbor reports to improve roaming performance and reduce the need for clients to perform extensive scanning when transitioning between access points. 802.11k aims to provide the clients with information about neighboring access points (APs) and their capabilities, allowing them to make more informed decisions about which AP to connect to.
