Configuring Router Advertisement Prefix Settings

To configure a router advertisement prefix

  2. On the Interfaces Settings page, click IPv6.

  3. Hover over an interface that you want to configure and click the Edit icon. The Edit Interface dialog box is displayed.

  7. Enter the Valid Lifetime (minutes) to set the length of time that the prefix is valid for the purpose of on-link determination. The minimum value is 1; the maximum value is 9999, which means the lifetime is infinite, and the default value is 43200 minutes.

  8. Enter the Preferred Lifetime (minutes) to set the length of time that addresses generated from the prefix through stateless address autoconfiguration remain preferred. The minimum value is 1; the maximum value is 9999, which means the lifetime is infinite; and the default value is 10080 minutes.

  9. Turn on the On-link toggle button to enable the on-link flag in the Prefix Information option to indicate that this prefix can be used for on-link determination.

  10. Turn on the Autonomous toggle button to enable the autonomous address-configuration flag in Prefix Information option to indicate that this prefix can be used for stateless address configuration.
