Configuring IPv6 Prefix Delegation on the Downstream Interface

To configure IPv6 Prefix Delegation on the downstream interface

  1. Navigate to Network > System > Interfaces > Interfaces Settings.

  2. On the Interfaces Settings page, click IPv6.

  3. Hover over an interface that you want to configure and click the Edit icon. The Edit Interface dialog box is displayed.

  4. Turn on the Enable Router Advertisement toggle button.

  5. Click the Advanced tab.

    If the upstream prefix is obtained, it appears in the IPv6 Addresses panel. Otherwise, an alternate address is displayed.

  6. In the IPv6 Addresses panel, click Add Address. The Add IPv6 Address dialog box is displayed.

  7. Select the Add Downstream Delegated IPv6 Address option.

  8. Turn on the Advertise Subnet Prefix of Static IPv6 Address toggle button.

  9. Click the Router Advertisement tab.

  10. Turn on the Enable Router Advertisement toggle button.

    If you turned on the Advertise Subnet Prefix of Static IPv6 Address option under the General tab, the prefix is listed in the Prefix Information Option panel.

  11. To view your new IPv6 PD interfaces, go to Network > System > Routing.

  12. Select the IPv6 option.

    The two new IPv6 interfaces with prefix delegation (upstream and downstream) are displayed.
