Configuring and Accessing Alerts on the AMC

The standalone appliance generates alerts classified as Warnings or Errors. These alerts are prominently displayed on the AMC dashboard and can be accessed via the Alerts menu. This section explains how to configure the alerts and notifications and how to view the alerts.

Configuring Alerts

To configure an alert:

  1. In AMC, navigate to Alerts > Configure Alerts.

  2. Add New.

    The Add Alert Trigger page displays.

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the alert.

  4. Select Alert trigger is enabled option.

  5. Select the Priority.

    • Critical

    • Warning

      If you are using SNMP, only Critical alerts are sent as traps to the configured SNMP trap receivers.

  6. Select any other conditions and options that you want.

    • When this measurement

    • Meets this condition

    • Threshold in percentage

  7. Select when to activate alert set in Select any other conditions and options that you want.

    • As soon as condition is met

    • If condition is met for some minutes

  8. Click Save.

Configuring Alert Notifications

To set notifications for alerts:

  1. In AMC, navigate to Alerts > Notifications.

  2. Select the alerts for which you want to be notified:

    • Critical alerts

    • Warning alerts

    • Acknowledged alerts

    • Cleared alerts

      1. Click Test notification to create log messages, emails, and SNMP traps for a simulated alert. This will use your current alert notification settings.

      2. Enter the details.

      3. Click Save.

  3. Under Email Settings, enter the email address from which alert notifications is sent.

    SMTP must be enabled to configure email recipients.

  4. Click new, to add an email address to send alert notifications.

  5. Enter the Name and Email Address of the recipient to be notified and click OK.

    Repeat to add more recipients.

Viewing Alerts

You can view the alerts on dashboard of the AMC or Alerts >View Alerts.

The View Alerts tab shows all the alerts in table form.

  • You sort the alerts by priority, state, description, and time.
  • You can filter the alerts by description, priority, active, acknowledged, and cleared.
