Downloading New Configuration Settings

Choose the target version to download the configuration.

Migration to builds with critical vulnerabilities is not supported.

  1. Select the target version for the new settings file from the Version drop-down menu under the Target section.

    The user should not import settings from a higher firmware version into a lower one. For example, the user should not import the SonicOS 7.2.0-7015 Target settings into the firewall operating on the SonicOS 7.1.3-7015 or SonicOS 7.0.1-5161.

    GUI Port Details: If the uploaded configuration uses non-standard ports for the Admin/Management GUI, the custom ports are shown in the GUI Port Details box.User can use these ports to access the Management UI for the exported configuration.

  2. Under the Advanced section, select the following features.

    All the policies and objects on the custom certificates and the related settings are dropped by default.

    Drop HA related settings Select this feature to drop configuration related to HA.
    This is recommended if you plan to change the other firewall in the HA pair.
    Drop default access rules from source device Select this feature to drop the default access rules from the source configuration if you are not using them.
    Drop default NAT policy from source device Select this feature to drop the default NAT rules from the source configuration if you are not using them
  3. Click Finish. The migrated settings file will be saved to your local machine's download folder.

    A pop-up notification will appear stating that the configuration file has been successfully converted. The download file can be imported into your Sonicwall firewall using the chosen format.
