SonicOS 8 SD-WAN

About SD-WAN

Software‑Defined Wide Area Network (SD‑WAN) intelligently manages and steers traffic across multiple WAN connections, such as broadband, MPLS, cellular, or VPN, based on defined policies and real‑time network conditions.

Unlike static routing, SD‑WAN continuously monitors link performance parameters—including latency, jitter, packet loss, and availability—and dynamically selects the most suitable path to maintain application performance and reliability.

In SonicOS, SD‑WAN is integrated with the firewall and security framework to provide centralized management, application‑aware traffic steering, and secure WAN connectivity. SD‑WAN uses SLA‑based path selection and policy controls to optimize traffic flow across multiple interfaces.
