To access the SonicWall NSv web interface, you need to assign an Elastic IP (EIP) to the NSv management interface. For this, you need to use the management Elastic Network Interface (ENI).
To locate the management ENI
In your browser, navigate to EC2 > Instances.
Select the NSv instance.
In the lower panel, click the Details tab.
Scroll down to the Network interfaces section.
Under Network interfaces, interfaces are listed in device‑index order.
Click eth0 | Device index 0.
This opens the Network interface details panel for eth0.
Locate Network interface ID. This is the management ENI
Click the copy icon next to the ID, or select and copy it manually.
Paste the value into a temporary file, so you can refer to it during the next procedure.
To locate or create the Elastic IP (EIP) and associate it with the management interface
In the left navigation pane, click Elastic IPs.
Ensure that an Elastic IP address is already allocated. If no Elastic IP address is allocated, select the Elastic IP and click Allocate Elastic IP address > keep the default settings, and select Allocate.
On the Elastic IP address page, select the free Elastic IP and click Actions > Associate Elastic IP address.
The Associate Elastic IP address dialog box displays.
From the Resource type drop-down menu, select Network interface.
In the Network interface drop-down menu, select the ENI of the management interface that you located in the previous procedure.
Click Associate.
At this point, you can point your browser to the Elastic IP (EIP) address that you just associated to the ENI of the NSv management interface, by typing in the URL consisting of the IPv4 EIP address (for example: https://xx.xx.xxx.xxx).
The SonicWall NSv login page is displayed. Log in using the default credentials (admin / password where the password is the AWS instance ID of the newly created SonicWall NSv instance such as i-02aaxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
If you have not already registered, register your NSv virtual machine with MySonicWall. See Registering the NSv Appliance as PAYG.
