Preparing the Windows Server System

Before installing an SMA 500v for Hyper-V Virtual Appliance on Hyper-V, prepare the Windows Server system:

• Install Windows Server 2016 or 2019.

• Install the Hyper-V Role in the Windows Server system. Refer to the instructions at:

  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/get-started/install-the-hyperv -role-on-windows-server.

• Connect the Windows Server system to an external, internal, or private switch. For detailed instructions see the section that follows: Creating Virtual Switches in Hyper-V.
