What's New

  • Improvement in firewall firmware upgrade:

    • NSM will support ability to transfer firmware file directly from SonicWall Upgrade Server to Firewall, this mechanism will provide reliable and faster firewall firmware upgrades.
    • Now, Gen 7 firewalls running firmware version 7.3.0 or higher in NSM can be enabled for auto firmware upgrade.
  • SonicOS 7.3.0 support: NSM 3.1.0 release will support SonicOS 7.3.0 version. Refer to SonicOS release notes for details on new features and enhancements.
  • Improvement in firewall acquisition workflow: If the firewall requires a reboot after acquisition in NSM to provision a new advanced reporting and analytics license, NSM is introducing flexibility that will enable users to reboot firewalls as per the network maintenance cycle. After firewall acquisition, NSM will indicate in the inventory against each firewall name if the firewall requires a reboot to start receiving reporting logs from NSM. In earlier releases of NSM, it used to reboot the firewall automatically.
  • NSM On-Prem backup Improvements: Starting 3.1.0, NSM will support taking on-demand backup on an external disk.
  • NSM On-Prem Upgrade Improvements: Now, NSM user can utilize system console upgrade method to upgrade to multiple versions of NSM by specifying right channel name.

  • Enhancement in NSM firewall configuration migration capability to support migration to NSa 2800 and NSa 3800.
  • Improvement in schedule report: The user will be able to customize the report scheduling option in NSM to specify the start day of the week for weekly reports.
