Adding Connection Profile Management

To add a connection profile

  1. In the Connection field, click Add Connection to add the name and server.

  2. After clicking next, if the server has a certificate problem, a security alert message displays. Click View Certificate to check the server certificate, and then click Trust.

  3. Enter the NetExtender credentials (corporate username and password).

For SAML or certificate-based authentication domains, NetExtender does not prompt for a username or password because the login process is handled externally—either through a browser (SAML) or via a client certificate.

  4. In the Domain field, select the authentication domain from the drop-down menu.

If you select Choose during login, you will be prompted to select the domain at the time of login.

  5. From the Protocol drop-down menu, select one of the following connection protocols.

    • Auto: Automatically selects the most appropriate connection protocol based on network conditions.
    • TLS (TCP): Uses Transport Layer Security over TCP to provide reliable, encrypted communication.
    • DTLS (UDP): Uses Datagram Transport Layer Security over UDP for secure, low‑latency connections.
    • WireGuard: A modern VPN protocol that offers high performance with strong, streamlined encryption.
  6. If you want this connection profile to be available for all user accounts on this computer, select the For all Windows users checkbox.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Click Connect to connect the new connection on the Connection page.
