How to Enable SSH on CMS.

Resolution

To Enable SSH settings on CMS Before 12.4.1 firmware :

  1. Login to CMS.
  2. Navigate to Management Server | Configure | NETWORK SERVICES.Image
  3.  Click the Configure link under SSH.
  4. To enable SSH, select the Enable SSH checkbox.
  5. To add a host from which you want to enable SSH access, click + icon, type the IP address and subnet mask for the host you want to add, and then click OK (Always remember or save a screenshot of the subnet added).
  6.  To add a authorized key for users that you want to allow to access the appliance without a password, click + icon, paste the public SSH key, and then click OK.
  7. Click Save and apply pending changes.




 To Enable SSH from12.4.2 firmware CMS & Synchronize to All Managed Appliances :


 TIP: From 12.4.2 onwards, the administrator can use Other service options on CMS setting page for pushing the
configuration of SSH, Syslog, NTP, and Ping (ICMP).


1. Log in to CMS.
2. Navigate to Management Server > Configure > Central Management.
3. Under Other Services, select Secure Shell (SSH).

 NOTE: It enables the synching of the SSH settings. Policy synchronization option should be enabled.

4. Click Save.
5. Navigate to Management Server > Configure > Services page.
6. Under SSH, click Configure
7. In the SSH page, select Enable SSH and configure SSH settings with remote hosts and public key.

8. Click Save Apply Pending changes.

 NOTE: The latest settings are activated on the appliance only after the completion of synchronization.

9. Synchronize all the managed devices.
10. Access the SSH of managed appliance or CMS in remote hosts using the public key if specified in the
CMS.
