Users Cannot Edit SharePoint Documents When Accessing Via Web Translated Mode

Description

Users Cannot Edit SharePoint Documents When Accessing Via Web Translated Mode

Resolution

Description:

Excel and Word documents accessed from SharePoint portal will open in read-only mode when accessed via the translated web access method. These documents will open in read/write mode when accessed directly, bypassing the Aventail appliance.

Workaround:

Opening a SharePoint link to a file (Excel/Word) in read/write mode is not supported in translated web access mode. Users will have to first save the file to the local computer and edit it with locally installed software.  As a workaround customers can use other access methods like Connect Tunnel Client, SonicWall Mobile Connect,  or OnDemand Tunnel if they want to be able to open the file in read/write mode.
