How to manually apply licenses to SMA 1000 series appliance?

Description

This article describes how to manage software licenses for appliance components. This license is used to monitor and enforce concurrent user counts. If you exceed your concurrent active user limit, user access is restricted until the active user count drops below the licensed user limit.

Resolution

To import licenses Manually

  •  Login to MySonicWall.
  •  Navigate to My Workspace | Products, click on the serial number of the appliance which references the licenses you want to import.

  • New window will pop up and in that window switch to Licenses tab.
  • Click Manual Upgrade, and then click Add License Keyset to Product.

  • Select Keyset version to 10.5 or later.

  •  Click Submit.
  •  .lic file will get downloaded which will be your license file.



On Appliance

  •  Login to the AMC of the appliance.
  •  Under System Configuration| General Settings|Edit Licensing

  •  Click Import license.

  •  Choose the file which is being downloaded from MySonicWall and click import.
  •  The license information will be imported to the appliance.
