On the email security solution, you can set up email addresses to which users can forward their missed spam emails. SonicWall will use that information to adapt email security to increase spam blocking performance.
This feature is only available on Email Security on-premise solutions.
NOTE: You must set up your mail server to send outbound emails through ES for this feature to work.
Step 1: Login to Email security device as "admin"
Step 2: Find the hostname of Email Security by navigating to Manage | System Setup | Server | Host Configuration. In this case, the hostname is demo.sonicwall.com
Step 3: Now navigate to Manage | Security Services | Anti-Spam | Spam Submission
Step 4: Under Email address for Submitting missed spam, add the email address.
NOTE: This email address needs to be in a particular format. It can be any name followed by @ and host name of the email security appliance.
EXAMPLE: The missed spam address can be missedspam@demo.SonicWall.com or spam@demo.SonicWall.com ( demo.SonicWall.com in this example is the hostname), do not create email address with just the domain name: like missedspam@SonicWall.com, this will not work.
Step 5: Click on Apply changes.
Once this is set up, you can have users forward their junk emails to the missed spam address.
NOTE: If the navigation or the screenshot looks different from the one mentioned above, you may be in an older firmware version and would require a firmware upgrade. Please refer the link below to upgrade the firmware to latest version.
